About The Newell

AwardKing Newell in establishing this Barbara and King Newell award in 1997 wanted to help our Centre survive during a time when the government was drastically reducing financial support for the Arts. Also, he thought that by setting this example it would encourage others to donate money so that the I.C.A.C would continue to survive and thrive. At the same time, he would give public recognition to individuals who have helped make the Centre such a successful enterprise. He felt that such individuals are of inestimable value to our community.
