Class Description
This two-session workshop will provide an introduction to “painterly” printmaking methods, known as monotypes. Through instruction using essential techniques, lots of visual examples, and hands-on demonstrations, participants will explore drawing with fluid media to create additive and subtractive prints, hand-rubbed transfers, ghost transfers, watercolour monotypes, chine collé and much more. Although this is an introductory experience, substantial knowledge and comfort with printmaking will be achieved. Sharing of results and individual consultation will further develop imagery and technical competence. Bring along idea sketches/drawings or other imagery sources. Non-toxic printmaking materials and methods will be stressed. Members: $103 Non-members: $127 Some supplies included.
ICAC Class Cancellation Policy
At ICAC, we try to provide you with high-quality instructors, classes, workshops, and facilities. Our instructors must be booked well in advance and they begin planning and purchasing materials in preparation for the class. Because of this, the ICAC has a 2-week cancellation policy. All cancellation requests must be submitted to the ICAC a minimum of 2 weeks (10 business days) before the scheduled start date to be eligible for a refund. Refunds will be issueds using the original method of payment whenever possible and are subject to a $10 administrative fee. If we do not have the minimum number of registrants, then the class will be cancelled. Often, we are required to make this decision early, so that our members have not invested money into materials. If a class is cancelled, a refund will be issued.
