English Paper Piecing -More Than Just Hexagons
In this class you will be given a brief history of this technique before going into the ‘how to’s ‘ of fabric cutting and glue basting fabrics to papers, using a fabric safe glue pen which is included in the kit. You will learn the basic whip stitch used to hand sew the pieces together and how to assemble the pieces into units and then into the completed project. Kit includes written instructions so that the 16” x 16” project, called Leo’s Star, can be completed at home and used to cover a cushion, make a tote bag or simply use as a wall piece. This class will establish a strong foundation for anyone wishing to explore the popular ‘Millefiore’ (Passacaglia Quilt) or ‘Patchwork of the Crosses’ (POTC) designs.
