Potter’s Classes

Beginners Wheel-Saturdays
Basic Introduction to wheel throwing – learn the ancient art of throwing pottery on a potter’s wheel. Also included is a taste of hand building.
Expect to get dirty! Bring an apron and an old towel. Class limit is 6. No prior experience necessary.

Dates: 5 weeks: Sat. July 21st, 28th, Aug. 4th, 11th & 25th
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Fee: $105.00 members/$150.00 non-members
Material Fee: Clay, glaze and firing extra


Beginners Wheel-Tuesdays – 8 weeks
This is a great chance to learn how to throw pots on a wheel. Each session is 2 hours. Come and learn the art of making a bowl, a mug, a vase. This is a fun class! Be prepared to get dirty. The goal of this class will be to throw a cylinder comfortably. Each student must have a set of pottery tools, which will be available from the instructor for $15.00

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Intermediate/Advanced Throwing – 6 weeks
This is an opportunity to push the limits of your throwing skills. In this student-centered class, Steve will help you to challenge yourselves with individual projects of your choosing or to further develop your throwing potential. We will also be introduced to a new clay-throwing body, developed to improve throwing ability.

Date: Thursdays, Aug. 9th – Sept. 13th
Time: 7:00 – 9:30 pm
Fee: members $105.00 or $25.00 per class (Members only).
Non-members $150.00 plus cost of clay (to be provided).
