Potter’s Classes

 New Beginner Wheel Pottery Class! 
This is a great chance to learn how to throw pots on a wheel. This 7 week class will start Tuesday, May 1st and run until June 12th.
Each session is 2 hours. Come and learn the art of making a bowl, a mug, or a vase. This is a fun class!  Be prepared to get dirty. The goal of this class will be to throw a cylinder comfortably. Each student must have a set of pottery tools which will be available from the instructor for $15.00. Instructed by Sydnie Crockett from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Cost is $105.00 for Members and $150.00 for Non-Members. Clay and Firing Extra.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beginning Throwing – 5 weeks (CLASS FILLED)
Basic introduction to wheel throwing – learn the ancient art of throwing pottery on a potter’s wheel. Also included is a taste of hand building. Expect to get dirty! Bring an apron and an old towel. No prior experience is necessary. Clay, glazing and firing extra. Limit of 6 students

Intermediate Throwing – 6 weeks (note date change)
This class is designed for potters with some wheel-throwing experience.  Keith with assist with making your thrown forms more consistent, and improve your confidence in working on the potter’s wheel. (Limit of 7)

Hand Building – 9 weeks 
Participants will learn various methods of hand building with clay, gradually building from simple to more advanced work. Project ideas are available or if you have an idea you want to try, we will try to facilitate it.  Class is suitable to various levels of skill. Come on out and learn to have fun with clay in a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. This workshop concludes with a raku firing at the instructor’s home. Limit of 10 students.
