Intermediate/Advanced Throwing
Part II – 6 weeks CLASS FILLED!
This is an opportunity to push the limits of your throwing skills. In this student-centered class, Steve will help you to challenge yourselves with individual projects of your choosing or to further develop your throwing potential. We will also be introduced to a new clay-throwing body, developed to improve throwing ability.

Mixed Media Mosaic Workshop
With Heather Vollans, Mosaicist
CLASS FILLED!

Working on a prepared plywood board, participants will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of materials to produce an ungrouted mixed media mosaic artwork. Instruction will include how and where to source bases for materials, how to prepare them and what to avoid! Instruction will be provided on how to cut and place a number of materials creatively and design possibilities for your chosen materials. Take home notes will be provided on all adhesives used.

Prepared plywood base for mosaic
Tools for cutting a variety of materials – glass, ceramic, tile, stone etc.
Adhesives for a variety of materials
A limited amount of material – glass, ceramic, tile, stone etc.

Participants to bring:
Any additional materials you would like to work with – salvaged china, glass, stone, ceramic, shells etc. or add paints, papers etc. if you so desire
Apron – this is messy work
$store safety glasses
Medical-type gloves (optional)
Tweezers (optional, but handy if you’re working with small pieces)
Lots of cotton rags (old white t-shirts or sheets the best fabric)
3-4 round Tupperware-type containers (round ones work best with adhesives)
Old knife or artists spatulas
Lunch and drinks?
And… a sense of adventure!! This is fun!
