Potter’s Classes

Beginners Wheel-Saturdays
Basic Introduction to wheel throwing – learn the ancient art of throwing pottery on a potter’s wheel. Also included is a taste of hand building.
Expect to get dirty! Bring an apron and an old towel. Class limit is 6. No prior experience necessary.

Hand building
Participants will learn various methods of hand building with clay, gradually building from simple to more advanced work.  Project ideas are available or if you have an idea you want to try, we will try to facilitate it.  Class is suitable to various levels of skill. Come on out and learn to have fun with clay in a supportive and enjoyable learning environment.

Using an external armature for clay sculptures
This is a two workshop demonstration of techniques in the use of an external armature or support for the modeling of complex figurative clay sculpture for firing.Instructor: George Shadford

Following techniques demonstrated in George Shadford’s workshop.  Armatures and sculpture clay will be available to create your sculpture.
