Painting Classes

Painting with Acrylics 201
This class is for painters who wish to experiment with acrylic painting in greater depth. You will have the opportunity to rework paintings and explore new techniques such as texturing, glazing and layering. Using your own supplies we will learn about colour mixing and application. A basic supply list will follow and some additional materials will be provided. Please bring simple landscape photos that you can work from – photos with light and shadow are most effective.

How to Build Abstract in Acrylics

In this workshop we will be building an Abstract using lines, shapes and colour!  Colours will be blended, scraped and dripped to create beautiful subtle paintings. The workshop will start with warm up exercises – watercolour paper with Gesso can be used for this.  Our goal is to finish 2 paintings, a small canvas approximately 10”x10” which will be finished with a pour of Clear Tar Gel. For your second painting feel free to use any canvas size, fluid acrylics, heavy body acrylics, gels and pastes. We will look at various abstract compositions and colour choices to make this painting your own!
