Fibre Arts Group

What is Fibre Art?

Fibre Art is created using natural or synthetic fibres and traditional techniques like sewing and weaving to create what is commonly described as “Fibre Art”

Beading work, Braiding, Embroidery, Felting, Mixed-media, Fabric painting, and Spun fibres can all come into play in the creation of Fibre Art.

Meetings are generally on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with social time from 9:30-10:00am. Bring a lunch – tea and coffee are available. The Arts Centre is open 9:00 to 4:00pm for extended work time.

The objective of FAB is to explore the creative use of fiber, fabrics and embellishments in the creation of Fibre Art. Members share interests and skills with one another on a regular basis. Participants are asked to contribute to the upkeep of the wonderful room we use by regularly putting $2.00 in the toonie box. New members are always welcome.
