Linda Yeoman – September 9th to September 30th, 2018.

Mixed media collage artist/Gourd sculptures.
Living and working on a farm in Burgessville, Ontario, Oxford County, provides artist Linda Yeoman with lots of inspiration. She is inspired by the beauty and shapes of gourds and they provide an ideal medium for Linda to create contemporary sculptures. In addition to her gourd sculptures she also creates unique mixed media collages.

Linda’s collages take her away from the farm on a journey to far off exotic places. By using images and beautiful Japanese washi papers she is planted in this far off land. She had the opportunity to travel to Japan this past spring. Many of her collages incorporate her love of paper and love of Asian design.

Then there are the collages that take Linda back to remembering what things used to look and be like –vintage images, famous people and the huge contrast to what things look like and sound like today – for Linda her art is a never ending adventure.

Linda is a member of the Collage Collective group in London. In this exhibit there are also a collection of collages created as a monthly challenge where they research a famous artist and create a collage that represents their style of work.

She is also a member of Oxford Creative Connections, Ingersoll Creative Art Centre and the Woodstock Art Gallery. Linda is also on the annual Oxford Studio Tour.
